The Fox family opens a bar and bottling shed in Tooman. A crossroads in south Leitrim where the road bends and the parish gathers. The original building still stands today, a stone's throw from where Jimmy Fox pulls pints.
Mid-1980s
New premises built next door. But the feel does not change. Fox's is still what it has always been - the pub where the parish meets, the shop where you pick up the paper, the place where Saturday night means music.

Today
Jimmy and Kathleen Fox, eighth generation. Bridie tends bar. Peader, who played for the Leitrim GAA team, has his picture on the wall. The pints are EUR 5 and the welcome is free. Three hundred years at the crossroads.
In a townland like Tooman, one place does everything. Fox's is that place.
